The Revit Keynote Manager is your central tool for managing all project keynotes efficiently. Accessible through the Annotate tab, it allows you to organize keynotes into clear groups and subgroups, making large data sets easier to handle.

Types of Keynotes for Flexible Annotation
Revit offers three types of keynotes: Element Keynote, Material Keynote, and User Keynote. These options provide flexibility in annotating various elements and materials throughout your project, ensuring clarity and consistency in your documentation.
Element Keynotes
Element keynotes are applied to elements as a type parameter. Simply select the door, open the type properties, and choose the correct keynote value from the list. This will apply to all instances of the same type
Materials Keynotes
Material keynotes are assigned within the material definition dialog and stay visible even in coarse detail mode. They offer more flexibility compared to material tags
User Keynotes
User keynotes are added to individual elements and don’t require selection from the keynote file. They have a Key value but no Keynote text, allowing for specific, customized annotations
